Kate and Tim Downey Wedding

We were able to catch a few pictures and videos of the ceremony that we wanted to get out for the bride and groom and their parents.  We'll add a few more pictures as we get time.  To those who have some good pictures, please email to celtgrace@aol.com.

Kate was radiant in the bright St. Paul sun...

The Bride and Groom give us a family portrait, just for the Website...

Tim took a walk with his groomsmen, brother, Greg Downey, cousin, Dave Stone, and brother, Brian Downey.

Introducing Mr. & Mrs. Downey

Thanks to Jo Downey for sending some great pictures.

Jo caught Diana Stone with fiancée, Roger Barrillas, and brother Jason Stone.  Roger and Diana will be married in August.

Diana Downey, Tom and Tina Cummins at dinner table.

Mark and Kathy Kubovic did the honors of cutting the wedding cake, which were on each table, as Pete Downey looks on.  Kathy said that her mother, Marguerite, told her to act sophisticated.  Kathy's sophisticated side is certainly shown here.

The mother of the Groom, Janet Downey, was happy and gracious as Jo caught her with son, Greg, here.

Kate and friends show how easy it is to handle the Groom.

Then some of the guys try it with Kate.

Cousins Tim Dols, Christine Downey, and Brian Downey enjoyed themselves.

Cousins Kevin Hogan, Eileen Tierney from Ireland, Katie Downey, Elizabeth Downey, Christine Downey, and Christine's fiancée Brandon Neil.

Proud Father, Ed Downey with Christine and Katie.  Ed was taking notes for Christine and Brandon's June wedding in Des Moines.

Melody Stone sent the following...

The first dance...

...and a kiss.

Tim escorts his mother down the aisle.

Gabe Stone just couldn't get into the ceremony and used mother Sarah's lap.

Sophia Stone, Joanne and Jason's daughter has a good time with Uncle Dave Stone at the reception.

...and Sophia's sister Audrey thought it was a fine time.

The Dancers

Tom and Tina Downey Cummins danced the night away.  Roger Barrillas and Diana Stone behind them were close competitors in the night's dancing.

Rachel Downey and Brandon Egan practice for their May wedding.

Christine Downey and fiancée Brandon Neil took a break from dancing to give us a picture.  Their June wedding in Des Moines will be the 3rd of the season.  They flew in from Denver, where they will be living.

Diana Stone and Roger Barrillas and friends give us a picture.  Diana and Roger's August wedding will be the 5th of the season.

Socializing

Bob, Susan, and Ed Downey enjoy themselves and look relaxed as they face May and June weddings respectively.

Diana and Janet Downey finally had a chance to talk.  As mother of the groom, Janet could relax after all the wedding preparations and a great rehearsal dinner the night before.  Diana was able to compare notes for daughter Michele Downey's wedding to Kevin Thomas in July, the 4th wedding of the season.

Joe and Anne Dols did the wedding thing back in 2006 with daughter Theresa's wedding to Kevin Hogan.  They announced that they are now ready to be grandparents as Theresa and Kevin announced that they are expecting a new one in October.

Downey sisters, Maria Tierney and Margaret Bulfin enjoyed the festivities.  While the wedding was the primary purpose of their trip, they also demonstrated some serious shopping abilities in our Friday trip to the Mall of America.  After a day of rest on Sunday, they planned to reattack the Mall on Monday.

The Irish Cap

Family storyteller, Cousin Tom Cummins, brought his Irish cap all the way from Ireland.  The saga of the Irish cap is that it imparts good looks upon whoever might wear it.  Aaron Stone had his own Irish cap.  As Tom lent his Irish cap to Michael Bulfin, it just goes to prove the saga of the cap in imparting good looks.

Just to prove the point, Michael dons a stocking cap more typical of St. Paul's snow country.  Although Michael is a naturally handsome man, it's clear that with his change in caps, he's just...well...just not the same as with the Irish cap.

Best Man, Brian Downey, tried the Irish cap and again proved the point that it imparts good looks.

Pete Downey decided that he had to try.  Once again, demonstrating the Irish cap's ability to impart good looks.  It's just too bad that it doesn't seem to work its magic on the waistline.

Diana Downey showed that the Irish cap also works for women.

Melody Stone tries husband Aaron's cap.  It may be time that Aaron buy Melody her own Irish cap.

And finally, Bob Downey demonstrates the magic of the Irish cap.  While Bob has always been a handsome man, the Irish cap just enhances his natural sparkle.

One might expect a Guiness stocking cap to have the magic, but the magic of the real Irish cap becomes clear.

Morning Brunch

After a wedding day of fun and fellowship, Kate's parents hosted a brunch on Sunday morning  Mike Downey is shown with Eileen and Maria Tierney, as Michael "McGyver" Bulfin shows another trick that he could do with his iPhone.  Michael bought two iPhones while in America   After brunch, everyone bade farewell and departed for home, while the Bulfin and Tierneys planned one more trip to the Mall of America before the flight back across the sea to Ireland.

Our thanks and congratulations to Mike and Janet, and to Kate's parents, Wes and Joan, on the marriage of Tim and Kate, and the good time had by all during an unforgettable weekend.
