Tessa's First Michigan Winter 2008

Mid-February finds Tina Cummins writing that the daffodils are sprouting at Carrigmore Farm in Tessa's native Ireland.  After we told her about this event at her birthplace, "The Contessa of Carrigmore" began digging for signs of Spring.

Tessa truly loves life.  She loves running and leaping, and then suddenly stopping to dig in the snow.  Alas, no Daffodils...Spring is still a while off in Michigan.

Tessa likes her snow beard since she seems to wear it so often.  As she passes her 7 month birthday, she's no longer the little puppy who traveled from Ireland with Mike Downey, and then rode home from Chicago to Detroit on Diana's lap.  Her leg fetters are starting to grow as she's becoming an even more beautiful girl.

Tessa likes to spend a lot of time outside.  When Scooter comes to the back door, ready to come back into the house, Tessa has other ideas and just grabs hold of his leash to pull him back off of the steps.  She's kind of pushy for a younger sister, but it's absolutely hilarious as Scooter has no choice but to go along with his now much larger sister.

And then Tessa continues to lead him around the yard.  Tessa will finally let go and then loves to run and leap in circles around Scooter.

Their tie-outs can become so entangled that they can't even get up to the back door.  Then we get the cold task of going out to untangle.

We plan to get an invisible fence in the spring.  This should work out for everyone.  Tessa will be able to spend more time outside.  We can stay inside.  And Scooter won't have a leash; so his younger sister can't lead him around anymore.
